Inmotive and Bando Deepen Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Development of 2W Ingear
Micro-mobility just gained range and torque as the team fast-tracks ultra-efficient two-speed powertrain.

Toronto, Canada — Inmotive, developer of the ultra-efficient Ingear™ transmission, and Bando Chemical Industries, Ltd., a Tier 1 automotive supplier in Japan, are proud to announce a deeper phase of their partnership, marked by the joint development of a new variant of the Ingear specifically targeting 2-wheel (2W) applications. The technology will be demonstrated through retrofit on an existing production scooter platform. This next-generation powertrain integration effort underscores both companies’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge, sustainable mobility solutions.
Building on the collaboration first announced in late 2024, The initiative targets the delivery of a complete powertrain solution by summer 2026, positioning the partners to support OEMs seeking efficient, cost-effective electrified vehicle platforms in the fast-growing micro-mobility sector.

The decision to accelerate development was reinforced by enthusiastic reception from early conversations with industry stakeholders, validating demand for drivetrain innovations that reduce cost while enhancing performance in the 2W electric vehicle segment.
